Sconce Giorgia by Valérie Rostaing in varnished bronze and alabaster.

Valérie Rostaing is a French interior architect and designer living in Paris. She graduated from ESAG–Met de Penninghen in Paris. After museography experiences and twelve years of collaboration with renowned designer Christian Liaigre, she founded her own studio. The experience she gained working alongside the celebrated decorator proved both extensive and formative. During those years, she led projects around the world, including in New York, Toronto, London, Geneva, and Athens, as well as in major Asian cities such as Tokyo, Singapore, and Hong Kong. Today, she is signing her first independent projects under her own name.

Fine lines, meticulous finishes, noble materials, and a strong coherence between space and furniture define her work. Her approach is driven by a pursuit of timelessness that prevails over passing trends and fashion. She favors balance, restraint, and enduring elegance rather than fleeting stylistic statements.

Raised in a multicultural environment, Valérie spent her childhood traveling and living between France, Germany, Sweden and the United States. This international upbringing shaped her creative outlook and her desire to challenge conventions, explore new territories, and play with stylistic boundaries. Her designs often sit at the intersection of tradition and modernity, refinement and discretion, masculinity and femininity, resulting in unexpected yet subtle combinations.

Beyond aesthetics, Valérie Rostaing is deeply committed to creating spaces that reflect her clients’ personalities and in which they genuinely feel at ease. She takes the time to observe their lifestyles and habits in order to provide thoughtful, tailored guidance and deliver environments that are both personal and functional.
